Football Betting Fans Still Love Napoli at the Year End

Napoli go into 2018 at the top of Serie A after another win for Maurizio Sarri’s side keeps them just ahead of Juventus. And they have the players to push the Old Lady all the way.

The Bianconeri won in Verona and with only one point separating them, betting odds point to a thrilling two-horse race, and not one that sports betting fans should miss.

Napoli’s all-time top scorer Marek Hamsik netted his 117th for the league leaders in a 0-1 win against Crotone at the Ezio Scida Stadium, leaving the hosts deep in relegation trouble. It took only 17 minutes for Hamsik to breach their defence, but Crotone fought hard for the remainder of the game to give their fans some hope for the rest of the campaign.

Juventus didn’t have it all their way in a 1-3 win against struggling Hellas Verona.

Blaise Matuidi put the Bianconeri ahead after a lightning break on six minutes, but Martin Caceres threatened to spring a surprise for the hosts with a long-range effort until Paulo Dybala restored order on 72 and 77 minutes.

Hotshots Mauro Icardi and Ciro Immobile both drew a blank as Inter and Lazio played out a 0-0 draw in Milan to stay third and fifth. While in Rome, Simone Missiroli rose highest to head a 78th-minute equaliser for Sassuolo as the visitors held Roma to a 1-1 draw. Edin Dzeko had put Lorenzo Pellegrini in to fire the hosts ahead, but one goal never looked like being enough.

It was 1-1 too between Fiorentina and Milan after a late three-minute spell brought this game to life. Giovanni Simeone headed the Viola in front, only to be pegged back on 74 minutes when Hakan Calhanoglu smashed home from close range to give Milan a point.

Elsewhere, Torino and Genoa had a goalless draw while there were wins for Sampdoria, Udinese and Cagliari.

And three cheers for Massimo Coda, who fired Benevento to their first win of the season at home to Chievo. Happy New Year!
