NBA Recap: Raptors Stay Hot, Bradley Beal Wins It For the Wizards

The Toronto Raptors remain the hottest team in the NBA as their win streak reached up to 13 games. At the same time, fellow Eastern Conference teams such as the Wizards, Celtics, and Sixers got some victories too.

After winning against the much-taller Lakers the other day, the Rockets were dominated by the Suns while the new-look Heat struggled against the hot-shooting Kings.

Here is today’s NBA recap provided by SBOBET.

Philadelphia Sixers 119-107 Memphis Grizzlies

Playing at home has been a safe haven for the Sixers as they’ve improved to 23-2 with a win against the Grizzlies.

Furkan Korkmaz went guns ablaze with 34 points while Ben Simmons notched a 22-point, 10-assist double-double to halt the home team’s four-game losing streak.

The Turkish national’s hot shooting in the first half gave Philly a double-digit advantage. The Sixers entered the succeeding half on a strong note as their lead ballooned up to 33 points at some point.

ROY frontrunner Ja Morant led the way with 15 points for Memphis in the losing effort.

Washington Wizards 119-118 Dallas Mavericks

Dallas’ struggles continued as they failed to close out Washington at the Capital One Arena.

Bradley Beal scored the game-winning layup with 0.2 seconds left to give the Wizards a huge lift as they continue to try to enter the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. He scored 29 points in this game.

Washington waxed hot from distance by knocking down 19 treys while constantly attacking the interior since Kristaps Porzingis was riddled in foul trouble.

The Mavericks are still missing the services of Luka Doncic due to a sprained ankle as they’ve lost three out of their last five.

Boston Celtics 112-107 Atlanta Hawks

Jayson Tatum continues to show everyone why he’s deserving of his All-Star spot.

The lanky swingman had seven three-pointers and scored 32 points to lead the Celtics to their sixth straight victory. This was Tatum’s eighth straight game with at least 20 points.

The home team took advantage of the Hawks’ nine-man lineup, but the latter gave the C’s a scare when they trimmed the lead to three points with 41 seconds left.

However, Atlanta missed their opportunities to draw level and Romeo Langford iced the game with free throws.

Both teams didn’t field in complete lineups. The Celtics were missing the likes of Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward, and Daniel Theis while the Hawks were playing without Trae Young, DeAndre Bembry, Cam Reddish, and Bruno Fernando.

Toronto Raptors 116-106 Indiana Pacers

Despite being shorthanded as of late, the Raptors still managed to win over the Pacers for the second time in three days.

Days after Serge Ibaka knocked down the game-winning three, the Raptors used another strong rally in order to come away for their 13th straight.

They almost squandered their lead in the final frame when the Pacers cut their lead to two points with 6:47 left. However, the road team unloaded a 12-4 blast to give themselves a double-digit advantage under the final two minutes.

Serge Ibaka had 22 points and 10 rebounds while Fred VanVleet added 20 points and seven assists for the Raptors.

Oklahoma City Thunder 108-101 Detroit Pistons

Nothing has changed for the Thunder in terms of their roster and their winning ways after the trade deadline.

OKC relied on multiple players to bring home the victory as five players scored at least 15 points. Chris Paul and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 22 and 21 respectively while Danilo Gallinari added 19. Dennis Schroder contributed 18 off the bench.

After trailing for the majority of the game, the youth-laden Pistons squad cut the deficit to four in the closing minutes. However, Chris Paul came up clutch by pumping in four quick points to give OKC an eight-point cushion for them to hold on.

Former Thunder guard Reggie Jackson top-scored for Detroit with 28 points while Christian Wood had 27. It was the first Pistons game since trading Andre Drummond to the Cavaliers.

Phoenix Suns 127-91 Houston Rockets

The small-ball experiment continues for the Rockets but it failed big time when they were annihilated by the Suns at home.

Phoenix were firing on all cylinders as they’ve outscored Houston 46-26 from the get-go and they never looked back.

Kelly Oubre Jr. had a stellar game with 39 points while producing some topnotch NBA 2020 highlights and Devin Booker added 33.

The Suns snapped their 13-game losing skid against the Rockets that dates back to 2016.

Sacramento Kings 105-97 Miami Heat

Sacramento’s offense was like a well-oiled machine all night as they’ve defied our NBA 2020 odds beating Miami on Friday.

The Kings made 19 three-pointers as Bojan Bogdanovic hit six and Buddy Hield and Nemanja Bjelica had five each.

The home team took advantage of the Heat’s shorthanded rotation as Jimmy Butler didn’t play due to a strained shoulder. Newcomers such as Andre Iguodala, Solomon Hill, and Jae Crowder were also held out, but they’re expected to make their Heat debuts soon.

Utah Jazz 117-114 Portland Trail Blazers

The game between Utah and Portland went back and forth the whole time and the former came away with a win after a blatant missed call by the referees down the stretch.

Trailing by two with 16 seconds left, Damian Lillard charged down the lane for a layup that was blocked by Rudy Gobert after the ball already hit the board.

The home team eventually held on as they finally snapped their five-game winning streak.

Bojan Bogdanovic tallied 27 points while the All-Star duo of Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert added 16 apiece.

After a lackluster outing against the Nuggets the other day, Damian Lillard scored 42 points in the losing effort.
