This is What You Call a Mixed Bag!

A mixed assortment of betting tips for you to cast your eye over this week.

Premier League betting can throw up quirks just as unusual as many of the results.

With that mind, I have opted for a trio of different options to provide an added interest in three specific top-flight football games.

Stoke City vs Southampton (September 30, 22:00 GMT+8)

Stoke had shone in home games against Arsenal and Manchester United, so their 4-0 drubbing by Chelsea last weekend surprised many.

Southampton did well against United last weekend, too but, despite more than 60 per cent possession, could not find the net.

So a clash between a team with a makeshift rear-guard desperate to tighten up and a side which is struggling to score has the potential to be a dull safety-first affair.

Not on your nelly!

My 🌟🌟🌟 prediction is over 2.50 goals @ 2.21.

Chelsea vs Manchester City (October 01, 00:30 GMT+8)

The game of the weekend as third hosts first.

Ruthless City have already scored more league goals this campaign than Derby County managed in 2007-08 when they were (not surprisingly) relegated.

Hosts Chelsea relentlessly tortured Stoke last weekend and, while not as free-flowing as their opponents, can be as clinical and more obdurate defensively.

There is so much talent on the field when these two meet that, while the sides appear evenly matched and could cancel each other out as often happens on the big occasion, there has to be goals.

My 🌟 tip is total goal 2-3 @ 1.98.

Everton vs Burnley (October 01, 21:15 GMT+8)

Oumar Niasse, the final buy of Roberto Martinez’s three-year spell in charge at Goodison Park, was so off the radar of successor Ronald Koeman he wasn’t even included in Everton’s Europa League squad submitted to UEFA.

Relegated to the under-23 squad for a time, Niasse finally made his mark last week with a double from the bench to sink Bournemouth.

The man who cost £13.5 million from Lokomotiv Moscow is now in line for a starting place against the Clarets.

The hosts have injury concerns and the visitors have a proud record to defend – they are unbeaten from their trips to Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool this season.

All good things come in threes and I suspect this may be one game too far for Burnley to maintain that superb away run. I expect Everton edge this one.

My 🌟🌟 tip is Asian Handicap -1.00 Everton @ 2.23.
