Five second-half goals at the Emirates turned an away win to a home win and then finally a draw, as Liverpool shared the points with Arsenal on another great weekend of Premier League football games.
Elsewhere, Manchester City hammered Bournemouth to go 13 points clear at the top after Manchester United drew at Leicester.
Arsenal 3-3 Liverpool
It was mobile betting mayhem in North London as Jurgen Klopp thought his Reds were on the way to a crucial away win after Philippe Coutinho and Mo Salah put the visitors two up. But in five explosive minutes, Alexis Sanchez, Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil sent the Emirates into frenzy, only for Roberto Firmino to grab a share of the spoils. What a game!
Manchester City 4-0 Bournemouth
City march on after Sergio Aguero’s diving header, his 100th goal at the Etihad, put the Sky Blues ahead midway through the first half. The Cherries stemmed the tide until Raheem Sterling scored a beauty on 53 minutes and Sergio Aguero headed his second on 79, before substitute Danilo fired home the fourth.
Leicester City 2-2 Manchester United
A dramatic equaliser by Harry Maguire, in the dying seconds, frustrated the Red Devils. United dominated the early exchanges at the KingPower Stadium but were hit by a sucker punch when Jamie Vardy finished off a lightning counter-attack. Juan Mata scored a scrappy equaliser before the break and his second, on the hour, was a sublime free-kick. But the Foxes are laughing after their 94th-minute strike.
Burnley 0-3 Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs moved above Burnley in the hunt for a European place after the impressive Harry Kane scored a hat-trick at Turf Moor to equal the Premier League record of 36 goals in a calendar year. The artful Dele Alli set him on the way by winning an early penalty before he added two more late goals as Burnley chased the game.
Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 Watford
Goals are very hard to come by at the Amex Stadium and Brighton fans thought they were about to draw another blank, until Pascal Gross fired home to win the points, although Watford keeper Gomes should have made the save.
Swansea City 1-1 Crystal Palace
Ex-coach Paul Clement fell on his sword in midweek and a 59th-minute penalty, converted by Luka Milivojevic, seemed to make matters worse for the Swans. But Jordan Ayew hit a screamer on 77 minutes, against the run of play, to grab a very welcome point for the hosts.
Stoke City 3-1 West Bromwich Albion
Mark Hughes’ team had a much-needed win against struggling West Brom. Joe Allen was on the spot to poke home a cross-shot from Peter Crouch on 19 minutes, and then the midfield ace put Eric Choupo-Moting through to calmly slide home the second. Salomon Rondon scored his fourth of the season to drag the Baggies back into the game, but Ramadan Sobhi settled Stoke nerves in stoppage time.
Southampton 1-1 Huddersfield Town
Saints fans are desperate for top-scoring Charlie Austin to be playing every week and he obliged on 24 minutes with a typical poachers goal from close range. But the Terriers kept fighting until Laurent Depoitre headed the equaliser midway through the second half. Austin went off injured again.
West Ham United 2-3 Newcastle United
Newcastle got a deserved win in a five-goal thriller at the London Stadium. Marko Arnautovic put the Hammers ahead on six minutes only for Henri Saivet to level four minutes later with a low free kick, and Newcastle went ahead when Mo Diame smashed home. Andre Ayew missed a penalty for the hosts before Christian Atsu put the Geordies 1-3 up. Ayew made amends at 2-3 but it was the Geordies’ day.
