It’s a Fantastic Four for the Brilliant Immobile!

SPAL 2-5 Lazio

Italy international Ciro Immobile displayed his scoring prowess at Stadio Paolo Mazza, hitting four goals to destroy relegation-threatened SPAL and lift Lazio to fourth in the Serie A table.

Sports betting pundits expected Lazio to win the match comfortably, and Simone Inzaghi’s men sure didn’t disappoint as Immobile was in superb form to fire them past their hapless hosts.

SPAL, winless in their last three top-flight football games, fought mightily in hopes of surprising the online gambling community. Mirco Antenucci bagged a first-half brace for the team, with his first from the spot effectively cancelling Luis Alberto’s fifth-minute opener.

However, Immobile was just too much for them. The 27-year-old striker grabbed a hat-trick between the 19th and 41st minutes, thanks to assists from three different players.

Immobile then tallied his 20th league goal in as many games, drilling home a loose ball six minutes after the restart. He has now surpassed Inter’s Mauro Icardi in Serie A’s scoring chart with this haul against SPAL.

Lazio moved above Roma, who dropped to fifth after a 2-1 defeat to Atalanta. The Biancocelesti are also two points away from third, with Inter Milan still winless in five following a 1-1 stalemate with European dreamers Fiorentina.

Leading pair Napoli and Juventus, on the other hand, both notched wins to keep their battle at the top close. The Partenopei repelled a stubborn Hellas Verona side, 2-0, behind goals from Kalidou Koulibaly and Jose Callejon, while the Bianconeri edged Cagliari courtesy of Federico Bernardeschi’s late winner.

Torino also delivered a convincing 3-0 victory against Bologna in Walter Mazzarri’s first game in charge of the Turin outfit.

Meanwhile, Benevento got their second win of the season with a 3-2 escape of Sampdoria. Genoa won as well, beating Sassuolo to boost their survival hopes.

Elsewhere, AC Milan took a long-overdue victory as they beat Crotone at home, while Chievo and Udinese shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw.
