The penalty shootout score was 3-3, and Egypt needed a save to give them the lead. Kouakou Koffi, the opposing goalkeeper, was tapped to take the shot. El Hadary managed to stop his shot as well as Bertrand Traore’s attempt after Amr Warda slotted the winning pen.
Expect the Egyptians to apply the same defensive football they’ve been so successful with when they face either Cameroon or Ghana in the final.
