History and pure delight for the amazing Bavarians!

Wolfsburg 0-6 Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich etched their names in the record books again as they secured a record-breaking fifth straight title in a live betting demolition of Wolfsburg at Volkswagen Arena.

The title race could have been extended up until the final stretch of football games next month, but Leipzig’s goalless draw with Ingolstadt ended what seemed to be a two-horse race all season long and handed the Bavarians the Bundesliga championship.

Betting odds are already in favour of Bayern to clinch the trophy; and after seeing the Bulls fail to close out 17th-placed Ingolstadt, Carlo Ancelotti and his boys just know what they need to do to erase the remaining doubts in their fans’ minds.

And they did so in style, thrashing the struggling Wolves with three goals each in both intervals of the game.

Star striker Robert Lewandowski, who has been valuable for the Champions’ title run this season, was pivotal once again as his excellent first-half brace put Bayern in control – all after David Alaba opened the scoring with an incredible goal to the top corner in the 19th minute.

It was all over for Wolfsburg heading into the second half, but the visitors aren’t done yet as they piled more misery on the home side.

Arjen Robben was on target after 66 minutes, and Thomas Muller made it five on 80 after the Wolves’ Luiz Gustavo was ejected in the game following a second yellow card.

Joshua Kimmich put the icing on the cake five minutes from time, firing home from a Robben low cross.

“I want to say thanks to this fantastic club, the players and all the fans who have supported us all season. We deserved it because we played good football and were focused,” Ancelotti said after the match.

This victory is a fitting reward for the Bavarians, especially after a disappointing month that saw them exit the UEFA Champions League and DFB-Pokal.

With the title out of reach, Leipzig are now set for a second-place finish, while Dortmund are in danger of dropping from the top three after failing to get all the points against Cologne in another 0-0 stalemate at Signal Iduna Park.

Meanwhile, Freiburg suffered a huge blow to their Europa League hopes with a 3-0 defeat to bottom club Darmstadt. Werder Bremen, on the other hand, solidified their bid for European football next season as they moved closer to Hertha at fifth place with a 2-0 win over the Capital club at Weserstadion.
