Is Jupp Really the Man the Bavarians Need?

Bayern Munich disappointed a lot of their live betting followers with their slow start to the Bundesliga season. They even dropped all the way to fifth after their Matchday 3 defeat to Hoffenheim.

However, with Carlo Ancelotti gone and Jupp Heynckes back at the helm, there’s renewed optimism in the club that they can turn around the betting odds.

The new (and returning) manager already started last week, guiding the team to a 5-0 thrashing of Freiburg, and he will certainly be eager to prove it was no fluke as he also tries to reclaim the team’s title as online gambling favourites.

WEEK 9 SATURDAY:

Schalke 04 vs Mainz 05

After winning in the Capital last Saturday, the Royal Blues will look to build on the momentum they got when they face Mainz. The O-Fives will be hard to stop as they stay unbeaten in three, though it isn’t like they are invincible considering that they are yet to win away from home.

RB Leipzig vs VfB Stuttgart

Earlier in the season, Leipzig seem to be suffering from ‘second season’ syndrome. However, the Bulls proved in their win over leaders Dortmund that there’s nothing to worry about. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men clearly still got that killer instinct, which should be helpful when they host the inconsistent Stuttgart who haven’t had a string of victories yet.

If you’re punting, Leipzig Asian Handicap -1.00 @ 1.92 should be a good choice.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Borussia Dortmund

Frankfurt and BVB have fought out some close matches over the last two years, so this game should be no different. The wounded Dortmund, however, will play with more motivation, especially with their top position on the table at stake.

Peter Bosz’ side have scored at least two goals in the first half of their last five league fixtures, and I expect them to continue that trend. With that said, go for Dortmund First Half 1X2 @ 2.26.

Augsburg vs Hannover 96

There isn’t much expectation in this mid-table clash, with both clubs struggling to win. Hannover have Martin Harnik ready to end their dry spell, but Augsburg also possess a dangerous scorer in Alfred Finnbogason.

As much as both teams need all the points they can get, all I see here is a battle that will probably end in a draw.

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer are on a good run lately, but their poor away form might just doom them when they visit Gladbach at the Borussia-Park. It shouldn’t also help in their confidence that the last time they beat the hosts was back in 2015…when they still have Chicharito!

WEEK 9 SUNDAY:

Hamburger SV vs Bayern Munich

The difference in talent and quality between these two teams is clear. And with the tactical masterclass of Jupp Heynckes, all the advantage is with the defending champions.

Not that Hamburg have a chance of pulling an upset though, as they haven’t won since August and already conceded 13 goals in the process.

Betting on Bayern First Half Asian Handicap -1.00 @ 1.96 is an easy move to make.

FC Koln vs Werder Bremen

The Billy Goats—with no attacking threat—don’t look like a team capable of beating anybody this season. Bremen, of course, also have their offensive problems, but they do play better defensively as compared to Koln who have already given up 17 goals in just eight matches.

SC Freiburg vs Hertha BSC

With their act of taking a knee last week grabbing more headlines than their football, the Berliners will now aim to show what they got. Though, that’s probably a tall order against a Freiburg outfit seeking to bounce back from their latest embarrassment.

WEEK 9 MONDAY:

VfL Wolfsburg vs Hoffenheim

Both clubs have a knack for getting draws, so the team with the better defence will likely prevail. Wolfsburg, however, will have their hands full with Hoffenheim boasting a frontline of Mark Uth, Sandro Wagner and Andrej Kramaric.
