Borussia Dortmund 1-2 Werder Bremen
Dortmund’s miserable run of results continued after falling at home to relegation-threatened Werder Bremen in a live betting affair they were expected to win.
Pre-match betting odds were swinging in BVB’s favour. After all, they were playing at home against the River Islanders who have only won two football games prior to the meeting. However, their failure to register a single shot on target in the first half gave Bremen the momentum to pull an upset.

The result dropped Dortmund down to seventh with manager Peter Bosz reportedly set to be sacked by the German club. Meanwhile, Florian Kohfeldt’s men are now only a point below the safety zone.
While Dortmund remain in a free fall, Bayern Munich guaranteed themselves the top spot over the winter break following a 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. They are now eight points clear of second-placed RB Leipzig who drew with Mainz.
Monchengladbach and Schalke also dropped points to give more ground to the Bavarians, with the two chasers playing out a 1-1 stalemate.
On the other games, Bayer Leverkusen stay unbeaten in 10 games now, taking down VfB Stuttgart with a goal on both sides of halftime. Elsewhere, Hamburg and Wolfsburg failed to find the back of the net in a goalless draw at Volksparkstadion.
