WEEK 17 THURSDAY:
Getafe vs Las Palmas
Rock-bottom Las Palmas seem to be waking up, with four points from the last three games, just like their hosts that sit rather more comfortably in ninth. Loic Remy bagged his fifth goal of the season as Las Palmas fought back to draw against Espanyol, and the visitors are at 4.50 to go one better against Getafe.
Real Sociedad vs Sevilla
Four points from a Europa place, Sociedad host Sevilla that are two from a Champions League place in fifth. These two aren’t in great form either: Sevilla without a win in three, but the hosts have lost four of the last five. A draw is a 3.40 here.
WEEK 17 FRIDAY:
Eibar vs Girona
Eighth plays seventh in a clash of two Europa chasers, and Girona arrive with back-to-back wins and nine-goal Cristhian Stuani in great form. Eibar won their last three at home, though, and are at 2.02 to make it four.
Alaves vs Malaga
These two bottom-three clubs have hit a bit of form. Before their clash with Real Betis, Malaga had taken four points from the last two games. Meanwhile, Alaves won two on the trot before being edged out by Atletico in the weekend.
WEEK 17 SATURDAY:
Real Betis vs Athletic Club
Fourteenth plays 13th and this looks like being a tight game, with both on 18 points. But the Bilbao club is on the ascent, winning two from three in all competitions while Betis lost all three. The visitors are slight favourites at 2.58, with the hosts at 2.76 to stop the rot.
Espanyol vs Atletico Madrid
Diego Simeone’s Atletico are the form team in La Liga, so that augers well for Alaves, but less so for Espanyol. The Barcelona club has taken a single point from three games and sits precariously in 16th. Atletico are at 1.83 to win, or 5.00 to win 0-1.
Valencia vs Villarreal
Now, this is a game to look forward to. One league win in four has halted Valencia’s title charge rather abruptly, while the Yellow Submarine has just ended a poor run of its own with a win at Celta Vigo and has lost only one in six away games.
WEEK 17 SUNDAY:
Deportivo La Coruna vs Celta Vigo
That defeat was one of the back-to-back setbacks for Celta, but they may fancy their chances here. With the bottom three all picking up points, these are worrying times for 17th place Depor. Celta’s nine-goal Iago Aspas will be targeting the hosts’ rather leaky defence.
