Premier League: Tension Looms at the London Stadium

West Ham United vs Arsenal

Two of the languishing teams in the Premier League are set to lock horns at the London Stadium on Tuesday.

West Ham are fresh off of a victory against Chelsea thanks to an Aaron Cresswell stunner in the second half, leaving the under-fire manager Manuel Pellegrini fighting for another day. They are currently at the 15th spot of the table with 16 points which is disappointing considering their auspicious start last September.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been on the wrong end of our Premier League 2019 news, and it seems that the firestorm of bad PR wouldn’t stop anytime soon despite switching managers.

They have plummeted to a new low after losing a tight match against Brighton as they have suffered their worst winless run since 1977 under Terry Neill. Arsenal have yet to win in their games across all competitions.

Both of these teams are coming in with nothing to lose. However, it’s fair to say that we can’t expect a lot for this upcoming match.

Regardless, SBOBET is here to bring to you some talking points ahead on this fixture.

Talking Points

There is unrest in Stratford

Fans over at West Ham have been restless as of late, especially after seeing the Hammers drop six of their last nine Premier League games this season.

Save for their win against Chelsea the other day, West Ham endured tough losses against the Wolves, Tottenham, and Newcastle for the month of November.

It is a disappointing run for the Hammers given their strong start of the season. For a while, the Hammers were at the fifth spot of the table, and some of their best wins include clean sheets against Norwich and Manchester United.

Fast forward to today, Manuel Pellegrini’s future with the club seems uncertain.

How quickly these fans forget on what this man contributed to the team especially last season. Let’s not forget that the Portuguese boss guided West Ham to a season of stability and promise that they have not enjoyed for years when they ended up 10th in the Premier League table.

Moreover, former Hammers boss Harry Redknapp voiced out his criticism to the fair-weathered fans of West Ham given that everyone did their part in improving the club.

“Look at West Ham, they have come under pressure but they have spent money. West Ham fans have got their opinions and I hope that [the team would] turn things around,” said Redknapp.

Perhaps the fans at Stratford should exercise more patience and manage their expectations. And consecutive matches against Arsenal and Southampton might cure their ills.

Arsenal in a vicious cycle

Arsenal are currently in a vicious cycle right now.

First, they’ll hire a manager who will sell some promise, then they will lose games. When losses start to pile up, fans will hurl criticisms galore up until the point that the manager will get sacked eventually.

They have done that recently to Unai Emery and who knows? They might do that to Freddie Ljungberg too.

Even after Emery was sacked, the Gunners are yet to get out of their rut as they are still looking for their first victory since the month of October.

Other than the lacklustre and uninspired play seen on the pitch, you can see their key players continue to squabble over the little things instead of coming together united.

Aubameyang and Lacazette are the two Premier League players that’s keeping Arsenal together
Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang celebrates scoring their first goal with Alexandre Lacazette and Matteo Guendouzi

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang has been linked to Inter Milan according to several reports and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’ll go there soon in the next transfer window.

Mesut Ozil was finally broken out of his cage. However, he is yet to find his dangerous form. Alexander Lacazette, on the other hand, has been trying his best to douse water to their burning house but to no avail.

I have deep respect for Arsenal fans who continue to support the club regardless of what’s happening. But if you already don’t, I definitely understand.

History

West Ham and Arsenal have encountered each other 36 times where the former has won in six while Arsenal won in 23 matches along with seven draws.

The Hammers defeated the Gunners in their previous game last January, ending their 10-game home skid against Arsenal. They have not win back-to-back Premier League home games against Arsenal since 1984.

Betting Tip

??
West Ham United vs Arsenal West Ham Asian Handicap +0.50 @1.89
December 10, 04:00 (GMT+8)

The home team is at 3.35 while Arsenal are at 2.04 and a draw is possible at 3.55 based in the 1×2 market of our Premier League 2019 odds.

With both teams leaky at the back, there should be plenty of goals for this fixture. With the stakes being high, expect a lot of tension in the London Stadium.

A win for either side would change the complexion of their respective campaigns. But for now, I would give the slight edge here for the home team with a 2-1 tally.

A SHORT EXPLANATION ON HOW OUR (??) BETS ARE WORTH:
?? = €20 (Highly confident) ?? = €10 (CONFIDENT) ?? = €5 (SOMEWHAT CONFIDENT)
